Communications agency In Nomine is pleased to announce that international logistics company DSV completed construction in June of its new logistics terminal in Vaela, alongside the Tallinn ring road. The company invested approximately €20 million in the facility. The new centre will significantly increase cargo-handling capacity and improve the speed and quality of logistics services provided to customers.
The terminal was constructed by GRIK Ehitus and Ehitustrust. Following its acquisition of Schenker, DSV is the world’s largest transport and logistics company. The opening event featured a performance by the Fine 5 dance company, while Ollie entertained guests with a live rock performance. The event was hosted by Katariina Tamm.
The terminal includes 9,000 square metres of cargo-handling space, 100 loading bays, side-loading ramps and drive-in access. Employees will also have access to 1,500 square metres of office space.
The terminal’s operational activities, including the receipt and dispatch of goods, will be transferred gradually from the current location during August.
According to Alvar Tõruke, Managing Director of DSV Road, the investment will create growth opportunities for the company for many years to come.
“The new terminal has been designed with DSV’s international experience and future requirements in mind. Compared with our current terminal on Pärnu maantee, we are doubling the number of loading bays. This will allow us to serve significantly more trucks at the same time and speed up the movement of goods throughout the supply chain. For our customers, this means faster and higher-quality service,” said Tõruke.
One of the key advantages of the new terminal is its spacious, column-free warehouse area, which allows internal logistics to be organised flexibly. Automated volume and weight measurement systems will also be introduced, improving the accuracy of shipment handling and making processes more efficient.
According to the company, the logistics centre’s location beside the Tallinn ring road provides optimal connections to the capital’s business districts, ports and Estonia’s main transport corridors.
“I am convinced that our customers will benefit the most from the new terminal. The quality of last-mile services will improve, the distribution of goods will become faster, and the new infrastructure will enable us to provide an even more reliable service throughout Estonia,” said Tõruke.
He added that the investment also demonstrates DSV’s owners’ confidence in the future of the Estonian market.
DSV operates in more than 90 countries and, following its acquisition of Schenker, is the world’s largest transport and logistics company. In Estonia, the company considers itself one of the leading market participants in the sector.
In 2025, the combined revenue of DSV’s Estonian companies, DSV Road and DSV Air & Sea, amounted to €129 million. Last year, the DSV Group met its global financial targets, with total revenue reaching €33 billion, and also delivered on the profit guidance provided to investors.
