On a beautiful spring Wednesday in March, President Alar Karis visited Ida-Virumaa and also came to see the Jõhvi film campus studio complex being built by Mapri Ehitus. It’s not every day that the President of the country sits together with the construction team around the meeting table in a site office trailer!
Project manager Urmas Adson made sure that the President’s visit to the construction site was as safe as possible — which is why we got to see our President walking around the site in proper safety shoes.
The most cheerful moment was taking the group photo, during which the President’s adviser adjusted the Mapri vest the President was wearing. It raises the question — should we create a special construction company vest for the President of the Republic of Estonia for future projects?
Alongside the studio complex, a full film campus is being developed in Jõhvi, and tenants are already being actively sought. Development manager Erik Setškov from the Ida-Viru Investment Agency said that the new campus will bring fresh investments to the region. The first client is already confirmed — a company providing pyrotechnic effects for film productions is relocating from Rakvere to Jõhvi.
Let’s build the future with passion. See you at the opening!
