The cornerstone was laid for the Paepargi Sports Hall in Lasnamäe, Tallinn. The center, scheduled to be completed next year, will offer 3,700 square meters of usable space, with 2,800 square meters dedicated to padel. Additionally, a 24/7 fitness club will be established on the second floor. The sports hall is being constructed by Mapri Ehitus.
Toomas Mälberg, the managing director of Paepargi 11 LLC, the developer of the sports hall, emphasizes their aim to provide the best facilities for padel players. ‘Lasnamäe is the largest district in Tallinn, and its residents will benefit greatly from the arrival of this new sports center and the opportunity to play this relatively new sport in Estonia,’ he confirms.
Tarmo Roos, CEO of Mapri Ehitus, highlights that constructing sports centers aligns well with the company’s team. ‘We have built several modern sports centers, with the latest being the Ring Õismäe completed last year. We were awarded Sports Friend 2022 by the Olympic Committee, our team members are avid sports enthusiasts, and several will participate in the Ironman triathlon in August.’
Andrus Neider, project manager at Mapri Ehitus, mentions that in addition to the already common solar panels on the roof, an interesting Cor-Ten steel facade solution will be installed. This facade acquires a rusty color over time while remaining highly durable.
